One of the most visited areas in Naples is the narrow alley of San Gregorio Armeno, the home to the artisan workshops that bring Naples famed presepi, the Neapolitan nativity scenes and figurines to life. The craftsmen in this art have been making nativity scenes for centuries and their work is well known all around the world. This year they also lit some lights in honor of some important figures in the Neapolitan history. (in the picture: Mayor Luigi de Magistris walks in the narrow alley with a group of citizens, while the light forms the silhouette of one of the most loved people in Italy: actor Massimo Troisi). |
